FireProtect 2 Fire Alarm System Overview
FireProtect 2 prioritizes notifying people of fire dangers with a loud 85 dB siren and distinct alarm tones. It features primary and fallback interconnectivity for enhanced safety.
• Alarm Notification: Activates all connected detectors within 20 seconds via the hub or within 1 minute if the hub is unavailable.
• Ajax Ecosystem: Offers remote setup and real-time alerts through apps, with instant notifications about any device malfunctions or battery issues.
• Advanced Features: Automates safety measures like ventilation during CO alarms, ensuring quick response.
• Wireless Technology: Employs secure, two-way radio communication with a range of up to 1,700 meters, monitored for any signal issues.
• Installation: Easy to install with no disassembly required; maintenance is automated.
FireProtect 2 supports extensive fire safety measures and seamless integration into the Ajax ecosystem for reliable home protection.
Protects from invisible danger
Carbon monoxide (CO) is colorless, odorless, and otherwise imperceptible without a carbon monoxide detector, so poisoning can occur unnoticed. Even low concentrations can be enough to have a negative health impact, especially on those with chronic illnesses, pregnant, the elderly, and young children. High-level exposure can cause permanent damage or even death in a very short period of time. FireProtect 2 warns about a dangerous CO concentration at the level of 50 ppm before even the first signs of poisoning occur. A built-in chemical sensor is responsive to low concentrations and can accurately detect the CO level straight up to 10 years.
CO alarm
- 50 ppm in no more than 90 minutes
- 100 ppm in no more than 40 minutes
- 300 ppm in no more than 3 minutes

Overview:
FireProtect 2 (Heat/CO) Jeweller is a wireless fire detector with a built-in siren. Designed for indoor installation. Detects temperature rise, and dangerous CO (carbon monoxide) level. The detector also can work without a hub.
It is available in two modifications: with sealed batteries (has SB in the name) that run 10 years, and with replaceable ones (has RB in the name) that run up to 7 years.
The detector operates as part of the Ajax system, communicating with the hub via the Jeweller secure radio protocol. The hub communication range is up to 1,700 meters without obstacles.
Key Features:
Accurate fire detection
Heat sensor
- Two A1R-class thermistors are located outside the enclosure to eliminate detection delays
- An alarm is activated when the temperature rises by 10 °C (32 °F) within a minute or exceeds +64 °C (122 °F)
CO sensor
- A built-in chemical sensor accurately detects CO levels for up to 10 years
- A warning is provided when the CO concentration reaches the dangerous level of 50 ppm before the first signs of poisoning appear
Interconnected fire detector alarms
FireProtect 2 RB/SB detectors in the system can be interconnected and raise a fire alarm simultaneously if one of the devices detects a threat.
There are two types of interconnection, namely primary (via an Ajax hub) and fallback (detector-to-detector), which work in parallel. In case of danger, an initiating detector sends a fire alarm to the hub, which, in turn, activates the primary interconnection. This activates the built-in sirens of all fire detectors in the system in 20 seconds.
Meanwhile, the initiating detector activates the fallback interconnection and sends the alarm to other fire detectors. Even in the worst-case scenario, all fire detectors in the system notify of the danger within a minute.
System supervision
- Regular polling of each system device to display current states in apps
- Automatic detector self-diagnosis with state reporting to the hub
- Up to 1,700 m (5,550 ft) of wireless communication, or twice as much with a range extender
- Instant maintenance notifications
Additional features
- Automation scenarios activation
- Visual alarm verification using MotionCam detectors or cameras
- Indoor/outdoor siren activation
- Sending alarms to CMS
- Built-in 85 dB siren
- LED indication of detector states
Quick installation and setup
- SmartBracket panel to mount the device without disassembling the enclosure
- Pairing with a hub via QR code, with remote control and configuration in the app

Sensitive elements
heat sensor
CO (carbon monoxide) sensor
Dangerous temperature detection
Sensitive element
according to the requirements for Class A1R heat detectors
Requirements of EN 54-5 and BS 5446-2 standards.
High temperature alarm
at temperatures above 147°F
Temperature spike alarm
when the temperature rises more than 50°F in 1 minute or less
Carbon monoxide (CO) detection
Sensitive element
chemical CO sensor
Alarm if accumulated dose of CO is exceeded
more than 50 ppm (0.005%) — no more than in 90 minutes
more than 100 ppm (0.01%) — no more than in 40 minutes
more than 300 ppm (0.03%) — no more than in 3 minutes
CO concentration of 400 ppm (0.04%) within 3 hours can be life-threatening. The detector stops notifying about the dangerous level of carbon monoxide when the concentration drops to 50 ppm (0.005%) within one minute.
Sensor life
10 years
After 10 years of operation, the detector must be replaced with a new one.
Additional features
In-built siren
volume 85 dB at a distance of 9 ft
Sound notification of alarms. Active until the reason for triggering is eliminated or until the user disables notification.
Interconnected fire detectors alarms
via primary interconnection
If one of the fire detectors in the system detects a threat, it sends an alarm to the hub. Within 20 seconds, the hub initiates an interconnected alarm and sends data to Ajax apps.
LED indication
green is a power indication
A LED indicator on the device enclosure lights up once every 56 seconds. The indication meets the requirements of EN 50291.
yellow is an indication of malfunctions
A LED indicator on the device enclosure lights up when malfunctions are detected. For example, if the battery is low.
red is an indication of fire alarms
A LED indicator on the device enclosure lights up when the detector registers a fire alarm.
Button on the front panel of the detector
In normal mode, runs the detector test when pressed. In the event of an alarm or malfunction, the pressing turns off the detector sound notification.
